TOPIC
Respond
Now that you have a bit more information about how to care for textiles, write and submit your responses to these 3 questions:
If your object was in a museum collection, how would it be stored?
What steps could you take to preserve this object yourself at home?
What is the future of your object? Will it be preserved, and if so, how? Why should it be saved or not? Select one of the following options and explain why you
chose it for your object’s future:
My object should be preserved in a museum because…
I will preserve my object myself because…
My object should not be preserved, but should be recycled or reused because…
My object should not be preserved and will eventually be thrown away because…
The final question does not have a clear right or wrong answer. It is up to you to decide your object’s future. However, you need to explain why you made this
decision.
Each answer should be approximately 10-20 sentences.
Use examples from the video and reading included in these instructions, especially when answering the first two questions.
Part 2
Since history is the study of the past, you will end the last part of the last assignment for this project by considering the history of this semester and look
back over your work for the Object Project.
Write a 400-600 word reflection about this project.
It should be evident in your reflection that you looked back over your submissions for Object Project Assignments #1 through #5.
Assessment of your response will include evaluation of your ability to write clearly and cohesively, so check for grammar errors and typos.
You are not required to answer the following questions, but you may use them as a guide for what to include in your submission.
What are some ways that this project helped you to further your understanding of other course materials such as lectures and readings?
What was the most valuable part of the project for you?
What was the most challenging part of the project for you?
What is something you did not learn from this project, but wish that you had learned?
