Please prepare a three to five-year strategic plan for a public safety organization. You may use either the entire organization or a component of it. Professor
Bryson’s Ten Step Strategy Change Cycle model should be used as a guide. You may evaluate the public safety organization you are working for, or if not
working for a public safety organization, you may use a State of Florida department or agency. Papers are expected to be 10-15 pages in length and typed in
Microsoft Word format using APA format.
The paper should include:
1) Title Page
2) Table of Contents
3) Introduction/Background of Organization (may include culture, philosophy), Trends/Forecasts, Purpose of the Plan, Strategic Assessment of the
Organization, Internal/External Stakeholders, and Mandates it faces
4) Organization’s Mission, Values, Vision
5) Internal and External Environmental Analysis-Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities/Challenges (threats) (SWOC)
6) Strategic Issues
7) Strategic goals to address these issues
8) Initiatives to pursue to achieve these issues
9) Key actions with people and budget to implement
10) Implementation and action plans with time schedule/calendar
11) Monitoring and evaluation
12) Plan for updating the strategic plan
13) A reference page with no less than five references, which can include newspapers, the internet, books, interviews, publications, magazines, etc. but not
Wikipedia.
