In this discussion post, discuss how the narratives relating to Śiva reflect the text and its authors’ theological position. In particular, give examples from the
text and explain how these examples characterize the relationship between Śiva and Viṣṇu. Pay attention to the ways that the different stories frame one
deity as superior to the other, as this can inform us about whether the text was written by a Śaiva or Vaiṣṇava!).
Be sure to use examples from the readings, including the overview text by Flood and examples from the Śaiva text translations.
