
- Write a Poster on any aspect of the biochemistry of a disease or a disease process (e.g. the disease itself, its diagnosis, its treatment, etc.) your choice. – Demonstrate independent research skills, and ability to present results in the form of a scientific poster aimed a scientific audience. The poster should be well-researched and will need to demonstrate that you have used appropriate, correctly referenced sources of information and show a good understanding of your chosen topic. – The Poster must NOT be on any of the following topics: Any glycogen storage disease. Any aspect of organophosphate poisoning. Any aspect of inborn errors of methionine metabolism. Ketone bodies and their role in diabetes. Any urea cycle disorders – The poster must be created using MS Power Point and should consist of a single page and be prepared using the template provided. – Ariel font size 10 for normal text – Ariel font size 12 for any headings – The poster should contain an informative and succinct Title (including name and student ID) – A brief Introduction – Main Body of the poster, including appropriate supporting figures, diagrams, etc. (if these are taken from journal articles, textbooks, etc., they must be correctly referenced in Harvard format). – A brief Conclusion – A correctly formatted Reference list with a max. of five references (which should be written in Ariel font, size 8).
