In the previous assignment, you mined the literature reviews of three dissertations to guide your own search for information on a potential research topic. You identified themes (the common ideas being discussed across the literature on a given topic), noted the authors and topics found in the dissertations you mined, and created outlines of the literature reviews of those dissertations. In this assignment, you will outline your own literature review (Chapter 2).
Use the following information to ensure successful completion of the assignment:
Instructors will be using a grading rubrics to grade the assignments. It is recommended that learners review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment in order to become familiar with the assignment criteria and expectations for successful completion of the assignment.
Doctoral learners are required to use APA style for their writing assignments. The APA Style Guide is located in the Student Success Center.
Review the outlines of dissertation literature reviews you created in the previous assignment, and remind yourself of the themes you identified.
Identify the major themes from those dissertation literature reviews that you believe most significantly influence your potential research topic. Use them as headings (Roman numerals) to begin an outline of the literature review of your own potential research topic.
Expand your literature review outline by adding additional relevant themes as headings (Roman numerals) and supporting ideas as subheadings (capital letters). Follow standard APA outlining format to add additional levels of detail.
Write a brief (125-250 words) statement (to be submitted along with the outline) explaining your rationale for selecting the themes you included in your literature review outline.
