
In your final project, you will partially develop an ergonomics program for the Widget Manufacturing Company of Toledo, IA. The Widget Manufacturing Company (commonly referred to as Widge) employs 264 people in the Toledo area. The pay is good for the area with manufacturing jobs averaging $55,000 per year. They have no ergonomics program at the current time. You will develop two parts of the 7 step process: 1) You will develop a training document for upper limb cumulative trauma disorders and back cumulative trauma disorders. The document should be (at an 8th grade level) directed towards increasing the knowledge of the workers about cumulative trauma (upper limb and backs). The document should be no more than 1250 words. Just cover the salient points. Assume that this is a pamphlet or letter that will be sent to every worker. 2) You will record a 2 minute ‘elevator talk’ directed at convincing management that they need an ergonomics program.
