So, what’s the right thing to do?
Some things you might consider:
a. Which of the three perspectives (utilitarian, freedom-based, virtue) do you find most appealing? Within
that view, which thinker do you side with most (e.g., for utilitarianism, do you like Bentham or Mill better?
For freedom-based views, are you more of a libertarian, Kantian, or Rawlsian?)
b. In your current job, what is an ethical dilemma you’ve faced, and how could something you’ve learned in
this class help you resolve it?
c. In the industry you’d like to enter upon graduation, what ethical problems can you observe and how
should the industry solve them?
