You will need to prepare a business report analysing current approach to strategic use of information systems in organizations including specific case study of an international corporation with at least 10 000 employees. To successfully complete the task you will need to perform extensive research with minimum of 10 business resources. You are allowed to use respectable business publications such as Forbes, WSJ, HBR to do your research. You are not allowed to use generic websites such as study.com or random blogs including LinkedIn. All sources that are not available via UNYP library need to be publicly accessible without a need to register. All web sources need to be correctly cited using APA and include a web link. URLs beginning with www.google …. will not be considered correctly cited. Quality of research will be reflected in the assignment grade.
The report itself needs to be primarily critical analysis of researched sources written in your own words – not just a description of the systems – you need to analyze how the systems contribute to enabling business strategy or perhaps create competitive advantage. The report needs to cover the full scope of the company – internal as well as external information systems and data flows.
The case study needs to contain general introduction of the company selected no longer than one paragraph. The core of the case study needs to be analysis of its strategy in relation to both technology and management approach towards technology.
The report needs to contain original thought and analysis. Re-phrasing of researched material will not be considered sufficient to pass the assignment.
Paper research report submitted in the form of Word (.doc) or Acrobat document (.pdf) in the range of 1,500 to 2,000 words
Your paper should include following sections: cover page (title, student name, date, subject and instructor name), introduction of the topic, analysis of the company and conclusion. Any sources must be cited within the body of the paper using APA style, followed with a Reference section at the end of document detailing all sources you have cited.
All web based sources must be available publicly without the need to register on any website. All non-web resources must be available to be produced physically for review upon request in the original form (scanned copies without the ability to produce the original will not be accepted as a valid source).
Your presentation needs to clearly summarize the topic outlining both problem and solution.
