This Learning Activity gives you a chance to integrate and develop a theological method. Not a summary or book review, this Theological Method Paper exercises and demonstrates your critical thinking skills. This is a paper in which you demonstrate your theological method; the focus in grading is more the “how” and “why” you defend your views than “what” those views are. Use these criteria for help: Evaluate Deere’s view of revelation and Scripture in light of the other readings for this course and the class discussions. You must engage with Deere’s arguments, not just make assertions about them. Evaluate his presentation for biblical accuracy. You must interact with Deere’s use of Scripture. Critique the cogency of his arguments. You must evaluate them. Determine whether you think his view accurately handles the biblical text, and explain your answer, giving specific evidence. Identify points where you think he has inaccurately described the doctrines of Scripture. Be gracious and fair in your response, not derisive or dismissive. Write as though Deere will read your critique. Avoid summarizing the material or submitting a book review. Keep your response between 12 to 15 pages. Format your paper according to Turabian. NB (Nota Bene means note well or pay attention): Focus your response on Deere’s view of revelation and the related doctrines of Scripture. Avoid wrestling with the numerous other issues raised in this book. Finally, the goal of this assignment is not to discern your ability to give or defend the professor’s view/s, but how well you defend your view/s.

Guidance notes on completion of assessment These guidance notes have been put together to address some of the most frequent questions that typically arise in relation to the second module assessment: 1. What should I base the critical evaluation on? The assignment requires you to critically evaluate a recent (2011-2016) published peerreviewed research article that…
Title: Multimodal design representation Context: While we often design/make through procedures, tools and methods established (and sometimes, given for granted) within our discipline, the complexities of design have been addressed by ongoing research on communication, cognition or art studies. Much debate has been conducted on framing design as a highly complex, distributed cognitive activity influenced by our distinctive literacies and interests. This topic invites you to engage with the notion of augmentation (as in an improvement or enhancement) resulting from the flowing merge, transition and/or overlap between physical/analogue and digital design methods. Theories related to this field are those of multimodality and distributed cognition. Question: You are invited to, then, reflect upon your own practice by discussing the implications of hybrid (physical/digital) methods of architectural production and representation. Consider the idea of digital literacies; How does this augment our capacity for design proposition and representation? What are the qualities of those emergent modes of design production and communication? Suggested reading: Jewitt, C. (Ed.). 2009. The Routledge handbook of multimodal analysis London: Routledge. This assignment is worth 50% of your final marks (the assignment is marked out of 100 and scaled back to 50%). Case study See the Client Data Form in the Assignment folder. Your task is to take the role of an adviser and provide Martin and Melania with a report that addresses the following: 1. An assessment of whether they can meet their goals and objectives given their current circumstances and future savings capacity. 2. Recommend a savings and investment plan that best meets their goals and objectives. 3. As the clients do not wish to put more money into superannuation, you are not required to consider any superannuationbased or related strategies. Insurance and estate planning requirements also do not need to be addressed in detail. 4. A detailed assessment of the client’s risk profile (including an interpretation of their answers to the risk profile questions in the Client Data Form) and a recommended asset allocation that is suitable for them. 5. You are going to recommend that the clients use either the Russell Investor Class A Funds or Vanguard Investor Funds as their investment. You should advise the clients as to which product you recommend and why. (You will recommend an appropriate portfolio mix in line with their risk profile.) You should explain the risks and benefits associated with the product you have chosen. (Refer to Online Activity 3.1 on page 5 of Topic 3 Notes.) 6. You are required to analyse the two products and provide a table which compares the costs and features, including the investment objectives and styles. (This table and any narrative should be included as an attachment to the client report.) Information for each fund manager can be found in the assessment folder. 7. Advise the clients on whether gearing is suitable for them and, if so, how this could be achieved and what level of gearing you would recommend. You need to explain to the clients in detail the risks and benefits associated with gearing. 8. Provide the clients with projections using the MoneySmart managed fund calculator and/or the savings and investment calculator to model their outcome. These calculators can be found at https://www.moneysmart.gov.au/toolsandresources/calculatorsandtools (Note: You can use other modelling software/tools or Microsoft excel for your projections) 9. The word limit for your report is 4000 words – you can include appendices. 10.You are not required to provide a Statement of Advice (SOA). However, your report needs to be presented in a professional, clear and concise manner that a retail client would be able to easily read and understand. 11.Remember that clients do not always provide all relevant information. You may be required to make some assumptions in your report. This is fine, so long as it is clearly noted in the body of the report or in a footnote. 12.Client’s circumstances may be incompatible with their expressed goals. If this is the case an advisor must point this out to the clients and suggest more realistic or achievable goals.
