Bragging Rights: Which Profession Has the Highest Stress Level?
Background: You have recently learned about the physiological and psychological effects of stress on the brain and body. For this reason, you would like to find out which profession seems have lower self-reported stress levels. You collect data from a sample of psychologists (n = 5), doctors (n = 5), and lawyers (n = 5) using a one-item stress measure that reads: “Please indicate your current stress level, 0 = no stress at all, to 10 = the most stress possible.”
Activity Instructions: Determine if there is a significant difference amongst the three professions (report results of your F-test). Also report effect size, and post-hoc test if appropriate.
Your completed lab activity should include ONE document with all of the following:
1) Executive summary (Introduction, Results, Conclusion)
a. Make sure to include means for all groups, report F statistic, post-hoc comparison if applicable and effect size.
2) Annotated SPSS output- including Bonferroni post hoc test results
3) Graph of mean stress levels
4) (2 points): include hand calculation and famous 8 steps
