Instructions:
In three journal-style entries, describe in vivid detail three days at your job. (You may also interview a close
friend or relative about their experience, and write about them). This is an ethnography — a style of
research in which small details can add up to something that teaches us about the world.
Within your entries, you must incorporate at least TWO concepts from the course material, relating them to
your work experience or observations while working. These could include but are not limited to: the care
and justice perspectives, Social Darwinism, Aristotle’s idea of virtue and the Golden Mean, egalitarianism,
Taylorism, debt and profit, and the capitalist approach to valuing care. You could also relate your
experience to Ehrenreich’s Nickel and Dimed.
Word count: Minimum 1000 words.
